These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the ReSpeak mobile application ("App") operated by Rigel Apps ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

ReSpeak is a language learning application that helps users practice speaking through shadowing exercises. The App provides:

• A library of curated speaking exercises across various topics and difficulty levels
• The ability to create custom exercises from any text
• AI-powered text improvement and adaptation
• Progress tracking and daily goals

3. User Accounts

The App uses anonymous authentication. You do not need to provide personal information to create an account. Your account is tied to your device. If you uninstall the App or switch devices, you may lose access to your account and data.

4. Subscriptions and Purchases

• The App offers free functionality with limited credits, as well as premium subscriptions.
• Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
• Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's subscription settings.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies.

5. Credits

The App uses a credit system for generating exercises. New users receive free credits upon sign-up. Credits are consumed when generating exercises. Pro subscribers have unlimited access. Credits are non-transferable and have no monetary value.

6. User Content

• You retain ownership of any text you input to create exercises.
• You are responsible for ensuring that text you input does not violate any third-party rights.
• You must not use the App to process illegal, harmful, or offensive content.
• We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or infrastructure
• Use automated means to access the App or extract data
• Share your account or allow others to use it
• Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities in the App

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, content, exercises, and AI-generated materials, is the property of Rigel Apps and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The curated exercise library content is licensed for personal, non-commercial use only.

9. AI-Generated Content

The App uses artificial intelligence to generate and modify text and audio. AI-generated content is provided "as is" and may not always be accurate. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any purpose.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the App's availability, reliability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rigel Apps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

12. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting support@rigelapps.com with your User ID (found in the Profile screen).

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
